Slim Mints Ingredients – The Breakdown

There are a few active substances in this product. Unfortunately, the list on the website is not clear.

These are some of the ingredients which we could glean:

  • Gymnema Sylvestre – This is a plant which has been used in the treatment of diabetes for centuries. It contains the active ingredient gymnemic acid, which can bind to taste buds and block glucose receptors from signalling. This essentially renders sugar tasteless. A review in the Journal of Clinical Biochemistry and Nutrition stressed the anti-diabetic and anti-sweetening aspects of the plant.
  • Glycerin – A sugar alcohol which has no odor or color. It contains glycerides, which have antimicrobial and antiviral properties. Some people believe that it has weight-loss properties, but the evidence doesn’t back it up. A study published in Metabolism Clinical and Experimental showed no link between ingestion of glycerin and weight loss.
  • Polysorbate 80 – This is a surfactant and emulsifier often included in cosmetic products. An article in the Journal of Chromatographic Science outlines the specific properties of this substance.

    More sleep after taking pills!

Only been taking pills for a short period of time. Pills do make me fall asleep initially but I don’t remain sleep for more than 4 hours is the reason I got the pills and a little weight loss wouldn’t be bad as well. It could work better for others but I’m going to give it a couple of weeks.
