Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream Ingredients – What to Look For

The active ingredients used to formulate this product include;

  • Vitamin B3 – also known as niacinamide. This ingredient is important in exfoliation and water retention. According to the Dermatologic Surgery journal, vitamin B3 improves facial skin aging signs such as hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, red blotchiness, and sagginess.
  • Amino Peptides – peptides are short amino acid chains and are known for their numerous roles in skincare. According to the Cosmetics journal, peptides help the skin appear smoother and firmer. There are many peptide types that work in various ways to counter intrinsic and extrinsic aging.
  • Hyaluronic Acid – this is an essential ingredient in anti-aging moisturizers. It plays two major roles according to the Journal of Clinical Aesthetic and Dermatology. One, it modifies cellular immunity thus preventing infections and allergic reactions. Two, it attaches and holds a large amount of water which helps to keep the skin hydrated.
  • Capric Triglyceride – was found to support skin hydration in a safety assessment study on this and other skincare ingredients that appears in the Journal of BioMed Research International.

    What's in this Stuff that Causes Such a Reaction?

    After washing, I dabbed Olay Regenerist Micro all over my face & neck and went to bed. After about 10 minutes, my face felt like I had a sunburn and it was very irritated all night long. I had trouble sleeping and actually felt a little nauseated, even though the product is fragrance-free. I let my face calm down and after a couple of days, I tried the cream again at night time. I had the same experience, only more severe. This morning I have washed my face and used some good old Vaseline Intensive Care and things still feel tight and irritated. Slight nausea is back. There is something nasty in Regenerist and although there must be some who have better luck, for me I certainly won’t be using again – have thrown it out – and it isn’t cheap. Guess I should have done a patch test first but I had faith in the Oil of Olay products that sit right out on the drugstore shelf available to anyone. BE CAREFUL WHEN CHOOSING A FACIAL MOISTURIZER.

    Caused horrible breakout on my face

    I couldn’t wait to try this cream after reading reviews. I should have read the negative reviews first. At first, I liked the cream. It absorbed fairly quickly and made my skin soft. But the next morning I noticed a few tiny blemishes. After using it for a week, I have a major breakout. My face is normally clear so this is incredibly frustrating.
