How Does It Work? | The Science Behind Clinique

Each product from this brand is designed to address a specific skin concern. However, most of them work best when they are used together by following a specific application routine.

Products like Clinique face wash, Clinique eye-wash, and Clinique moisture surge contains potent ingredients that build on each other to give you smooth skin texture and appearance.

Clinique Ingredients – The Evidence

Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHAs)
Alpha-Hydroxy Acid is a common ingredient in skincare products such as Clinique dramatically different moisturizing lotion, Clinique clarifying lotion, and Clinique hydrating jelly. It is said to help with wrinkles and fine lines, age spots, enlarged pores, and irregular pigmentation.

A research study in Molecules has shown that topical application of AHAs can be used to treat acne, melasma, scars, hyperpigmentation, age spots, and roughness. It can also improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Hydroquinone
Hydroquinone is one of the popular skincare products with skin-lightening agents. It helps with fading age-related dark spots and hyperpigmentation.

According to research in StatPearls hydroquinone is a standard skin lighting or depigmentation agent and can brighten the skin faster. The ingredient can be used to treat skin areas with dark spots, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and melisma.

Hyaluronic Acid (HA)
Products with hyaluronic acid are often used together with products containing Vitamin C to aid their absorption. HA is often referred to as the fountain of youth because of its ability to stop and reverse the symptoms of aging, also evidently seen in our Dr. John Layke’s Dermal Repair Complex Reviews article.

A study in Harvard Health Publishing shows that applying HA on the skin can help moisturize or hydrate the skin surface.

L-Ascorbic Acid
An L-ascorbic acid is a form of Vitamin C used in skincare products. It is a potent vitamin C ingredient containing antioxidants found to stimulate the production of collagen and minimize fine lines and wrinkles.

According to a study in the Indian Dermatology Online Journal, Vitamin C contains powerful antioxidant properties. The topical application of this ingredient can help prevent photoaging changes and also treat hyperpigmentation.

Clinique Review of a product is no effect at all.

I used the whole bottle of Clinique All About Eyes cream for a few months now and no result, the shadows under my eyes are the same as when I started using the cream, and Clinique All About Eyes did not reduce any wrinkles or puffiness.
