How Does It Work? | The Science Behind Cerevive
This is a healthy formula full of vitamins and minerals which promote improved general health and resolve any deficiencies. In addition, it’s high in antioxidants which destroy free radicals, lowering oxidative stress and promoting healing in the body. An article in the British Medical Journal discussed the role of antioxidants in health and disease (7).
The Cerevive formula contains a number of ingredients that work to increase levels of important brain neurotransmitters like GABA and serotonin, along with others. Some of these help improve focus, memory, and overall brain health, and others lift positive moods and decrease stress and anxiety. An article in StatPearls examined the physiology of neurotransmitters (8).
Cerevive Ingredients – What to Look For?
These are some of the primary active ingredients in Cerevive:
5-HTP – This is an amino acid that is the immediate precursor to serotonin. Commercially, it comes from the seed of the Griffonia Simplicifolia plant (1).
This brain chemical can boost positive mood, and it may also treat a number of medical conditions. A systematic review in Nutrition Reviews examined the effect of 5-HTP on distinct types of depression, and the analyses indicated a high remission rate (2).
L-Theanine – This is an amino acid that can increase levels of key neurotransmitters in the brain, in particular GABA. This brain chemical can decrease levels of stress and anxiety. It also has cognitive enhancing benefits and plays a neuroprotective role (3).
A study in the Asia Pacific Journal of Clinical Nutrition concluded that this amino acid had a significant impact on mental alertness and attention (4).
Mucuna Pruriens – Sometimes called Velvet Bean, this is a tropical legume that grows in parts of Asia and Africa. The seeds contain L-Dopa, which is the precursor to the neurotransmitter dopamine. This chemical is important in learning and mood. The legume also raises levels of serotonin, which could help alleviate depression (5).
A study in Ayu found that this herb has anti-depressant benefits due to its synthesis of dopamine (6).

Buy Cerevive at your own risk
I’m not new to nootropics and started with one capsule of Cerevive nootropic as suggested. My stomach felt a little upset the first day, but no big deal, took two the other day and vomited in the office. I’m STILL nauseated and miserable!! Have never had a worse reaction from any nootropic EVER. I’m returning the product.
