Boots No. 7 Ingredients – The Breakdown

To make the products effective, Boots No. 7 includes the following ingredients in their anti-aging formula:

  • Pro-retinol – A derivative of vitamin A, which is considered the gold standard in anti-aging products. Pro-retinol is an excellent ingredient that stimulates the production of collagen in the body.
  • Alfalfa Extract – This plant extract is known for its skin soothing and brightening properties. It is also rich in essential nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and proteins which aid in revitalizing the skin. Alfalfa extract was one of the ingredients tested in this 2009 study published in the British Journal of Dermatology.
  • Peptides – These molecules are commonly added in skincare products due to their ability to stimulate collagen production. One of the many studies that confirm the effectiveness of peptide as an anti-aging ingredient is this 2004 study from the International Journal of Tissue Reactions.
  • Siloxanes – Also known as cyclomethicones, it is a class of liquid silicone used as skin emollient. Its main function is to smoothen the skin by keeping it moisturized.
  • Dimethicone and Glycerin – Like siloxanes, dimethicone and glycerin functions to keep the skin moisturized.
  • Ginseng Root Extract – Ginseng root, which is considered Korea’s best medicine, is popular for its antioxidant activity which helps protect the cells against free radicals. By preventing free radical-induced damage, skin aging slows down and it is proven by this 2017 review from the journal Aging and Disease.

It worked just okay for me....

I have combination skin that tends to be dry due to living in a dry climate. I found that I could not use Boots no. 7 in the morning before the day because it leaves my skin looking greasy. While it did not leave a film, it did not absorb well into my skin. Maybe it would be OK to use at night, but there are better options that will do more for your skin for the price.

    DON'T WASTE your money.........

Boots No.7 is known for its good products so I looking forward to trying its products. Overall, few products don’t merit the purchase. The eye and face cream is very paste-like so you need to really dig dip to get some of the creams out of the jar. It is very glue-like and doesn’t penetrate well into the skin at all… After a few weeks, I had to discontinue the use of all the products because it dried and irritated my skin. The product is truly awful. Wouldn’t recommend, there weren’t any noticeable results. All in all very overpriced and definitely not worth it.

    Very unhappy with the results...

I was so excited to purchase the Boots No.7 because I like some of the other products in this line. I tried dark circle corrector and face and neck serum. So far I have not been impressed. It took me a while to figure out the serum was what was irritating my skin. Not only does it not lather up as well as other products but hours later it left my skin very red and inflamed. I stopped using the serum and I use the dark circle corrector. I Will just finish the corrector and no longer use any of their products.
