How Does Saxenda Work?

There’s a natural appetite-regulating hormone in the body called glucagon-like-peptide, and Saxenda acts on its receptors to suppress hunger and therefore promote weight loss. A Saxenda injection can also stimulate insulin release, prevent glucagon secretion, and delay gastric emptying.

A review in American Family Physician stated that Saxenda weight loss injection when combined with lifestyle counselling leads to clinically significant weight loss [1].

The formula also has anti-inflammatory benefits which can decrease swelling in your system, and antioxidants which destroy free radicals and decrease oxidative stress.

This promotes healing and can strengthen the immune system. An article in Medical Principles and Practice discussed the role of antioxidants in treating obesity [2].

What Are the Ingredients in Saxenda?

There is only one ingredient in Saxenda, which is a prescription medication called liraglutide. This is a glucagon like peptide‐1 receptor agonist which can suppress appetite and promote weight loss. It’s an FDA approved drug which you can only purchase with a prescription.

There’s quite a bit of evidence that this medication can effectively curb hunger and reduce weight. A research article in Obesity Facts concluded that Saxenda with diet and exercise led to clinically meaningful weight loss [3].

A study published in Medicine showed that liraglutide led to clinically significant fat and weight loss on South Korean participants [4].

Saxenda reviews - The product is average, won't work in the long run.

Saxenda costs too much. Far too expensive for the lack of effects, I made sure to cut calories and start using the treadmill and only lost a few pounds, but this seems to work as it is supposed to.
