About No7 Eye Cream

No7 Eye Cream is an anti-aging product that claims to visibly reduce the appearance of fine lines wrinkles around the eye area, and to delay new ones from forming.

It also promises to fade away dark undereye circles and puffiness. Most importantly, it will help protect the skin against further damage and aging. All of these effects will be experienced after just two weeks of regular use, as claimed by the manufacturer.

This eye cream is a product of Boots UK Limited, a health and beauty chain headquartered in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1849, it is one of the largest health and beauty retailers in both the UK and Ireland, having more than 2,500 shops all over those countries.

No7 Advanced Eye Cream Ingredients – The Breakdown

No7 Advanced Eye Cream powerful, yet gentle formula boasts of the following key ingredients:

  • Matrixyl 3000 Plus – The most concentrated peptide technology intended to target fine lines and wrinkles with more power. Peptides are best known for their ability to induce collagen and elastin production which, in turn, plumps up the skin and makes the lines less obvious. The roles of peptides in fighting skin aging is discussed in this 2009 review article from the International Journal of Cosmetic Science.
  • Shea Butter – This ingredient has high amounts of vitamins and fatty acids, making them an excellent ingredient for nourishing and softening the skin. An added bonus is the powerful anti-inflammatory properties, which help soothe irritated skin. The mechanism of such property is described in this 2012 article from the Journal of Complementary & Integrative Medicine.
  • Vitamin E – This beneficial vitamin helps reverse skin aging by providing nourishment and intense moisturization to the skin, according to this 2016 review article from the Indian Dermatology Online Journal. It also helps prevent and reduce sun-induced damage by complementing SPF products.
  • Retinyl Palmitate – When applied to the skin, this compound is converted to retinol, a form of vitamin A which gets rid of wrinkles by inducing the growth of new skin cells. Aside from clearing up wrinkles, it also helps brighten the skin and even out skin tone. The role of topically-applied retinyl palmitate is reported in this 2014 study from the BioMed Research International.
  • Sodium Hyaluronate – Incorporated in many skincare products due to its ability to attract and retain moisture. The anti-aging properties of hyaluronic acid was discussed in great detail by this 2012 review article from DermatoEndocrinology.

The Bottom Line

The use of eye cream remains a debatable topic among skincare buffs, as some believe they’re just ordinary moisturizers repacked in tiny tubs. For many, though, these products offer a more targeted formula that really does what they’re supposed to.

If you happen to be one who believes in the power of this stuff, you know that there are dozens of eye creams available, and picking the most effective one is quite a challenging task.

When selecting your eye cream, there are few important things that you should put into consideration:

  1. manufacturer reputation
  2. ingredients
  3. price
  4. customer reviews

DermaSet and No7 Advanced Eye Cream are one of the few brands that tick all the boxes.

It is produced by a reputable company, offers an excellent list of ingredients, affordable than most brands, and has lots of favorable reviews. To sum it up, it should be one of the brands you should be considering if you’re looking for a good eye cream.

Is There Anything Else You Should Know About No7 Eye Cream?

This No7 Advanced Eye Cream is part of the brand’s Protect & Perfect anti-aging line. Also included in this line, which should be used together with this eye cream include the Intense ADVANCED Day Cream and Intense ADVANCED Night Cream.

    Didn't worked for me!

I did not like this product. My concealer did not sit well with it. And since it was so expensive I want to be able to use it day and night. I did try it for a week and ended up returning.

    Not recommended for sensitive skin

I wanted so much for this to work for me. I’ve had oily and sensitive skin. At first, this cream seemed great and moisturizing…until it gave me some kind of allergic reaction. It gave me rashes on my face after a week. It did not help me with my fine lines around my eyes and dark circles. I’ve never had a reaction like this before. Be careful if you have sensitive and combo skin!

Not for sensitive eyes. It kept itching

Stay away if you have sensitive eyes and/or allergies! Took 3 small sample-sized ones to try and gave it many go’s but my allergies always hated it! My eyes kept itching and watering all day.
