Many people tend to schedule manicures for big events, like weddings or vacations. But there is no need to have a special day planned for a manicure. Once you’ve scheduled your first manicure appointment, you may not know what to expect. Simply, get ready to feel pampered.
You can decide to get your manicure at a high end Salon or Spa; else you can get them in a Nail Spa. You will feel more pampered in case you go to a spa which offers a full body menu, but you tend to pay less in case you go to a nail spa.
You’ll begin with having any current nail polish removed, followed by your nails shaped and filed. There are various ways to have your nails shaped from rounded to square tipped. Some nails tend to break much easier in case they are shaped wrong. Going with the natural shape of your nail will ensure that you have stronger nails. Then nail technician will apply a cuticle cream onto your cuticles and then push them down. Though it’s a common practice, but it’s not recommended to have your cuticles trimmed. In case you’re uncomfortable with that, inform your nail technician. You will be most likely soaking your hand while the technician works on your other hand.
Most of the manicures include a very relaxing hand massage. This massage will include reflexology techniques in order to completely relax your hands.
You’ll have a difficult time when it comes to polish. You will be wowed by the colour selection. In case you are unsure of colour, a French Manicure is for you. In order to look natural, you’ll have a slight line of colour at the tip of your nails which ranges from white to light pink. Then you’ll have a glossy clear over your nails in order to make them look amazing. Your nail technician may even give you a small design on the nail for an extra fee.
After the application of polish, you’ll put your hands under a UV light which is specifically made to help dry as well as harden the nails. Though this will take about five minutes, but you need to be very careful with your nails for hours after your appointment. Nothing can be worse than getting a manicure and then chipping the polish two hours later. In case that does happen though, just call your salon; as many times they’ll have you come back in for a quick fix.
A standard 15-20% tip is the standard norm for any beauty service, including manicure.
