Postpartum depression symptoms appear after pregnancy

A huge number of women experience some kind of mood disturbances after pregnancy, which are also known as postpartum depression symptoms. They tend to feel upset, alone, besides afraid, or unloving toward their baby, as well as have guilt for having these feelings.

These postpartum depression symptoms do not interfere with a woman’s ability in order to care for her baby. This tendency to develop such postpartum blues is unrelated to any kind of previous mental illness or any stress. However, stress as well as a history of depression may influence whether these blues go on in order to become major depression .

Postpartum depression refers to depression which occurs soon after having a baby. Some health professionals tend to call it postpartum nonpsychotic depression. This condition occurs in women, usually within a few months of delivery.

Risk factors in the case of postpartum depression symptoms include previous major depression, psychosocial stress, besides inadequate social support, as well as previous premenstrual dysphoric disorder. Symptoms will include depressed mood, tearfulness, besides inability to enjoy pleasurable activities, trouble sleeping, fatigue, as well as appetite problems, suicidal thoughts, feelings of inadequacy as a parent, leading to even impaired concentration.
