It is not excess eating which leads to water retention and bloating

You don’t necessarily have to eat a lot in order to suffer from water retention and bloating. Rather, many people who eat a normal amount of food tend to suffer from this problem. Symptoms of water retention and bloating include extreme wind as well as profuse water retention. Thus, it is not the amount of food that you eat, but rather the types of food, as well as the lifestyle that you lead, besides the way in which you look after your digestive tract which lead to this problem.

water retention and bloatingIn case you suffer from water retention and bloating, the first thing you should do is try to identify any irritable foods which may be causing this problem. This can be done by a process of elimination. It is very likely that the offending food will be the one that you eat regularly. Hence, make a list of these foods, and one by one leave these out of your diet for two weeks. At some time in this whole process, you will not feel bloated. Now, reintroduce that particular food, and in case you start suffering again you can be sure that it was that particular food which caused the bloating. Now you need to cut down or remove it from your diet.

Eat in order to promote wholesome bacteria in your gut, which will aid digestion and avoid water retention and bloating. These foods would include yoghurt, garlic as well as onions. Also, eat plenty of fiber, which is found in whole meal bread, cereal, as well as brown rice. This will greatly aid your digestive process.

How you eat your food is also important with regard to your water retention and bloating. In case you suffer from bloating, it is best to have several smaller meals per day instead of three large meals. Eat each meal slowly, and chew each mouthful at least ten times. Always devote ample time to eat your meal in a relaxed way.
