Hydroquinone 4 cream is applied to the skin in order to lighten areas which have darkened, due to hyperpigmentation. Hydroquinone 4 cream will work best in case you avoid excessive exposure to sunlight as well as wear sunscreens and protective clothing. There are some hydroquinone products which contain sunscreens as well as other cosmetic ingredients. Some of these products are available only with a prescription.
Hydroquinone 4 cream is to be used on the skin only. Use it carefully if you are applying it to the face. Avoid contact with the eyes or the mouth. Use it as directed, which is usually twice a day. For getting best results, apply a small amount of medication first on the skin which is to be treated. A thin layer is all that is required. Rub it in gently. Do not use it on irritated or on broken skin.
In case you miss a dose of Hydroquinone 4 cream, apply it as soon as you remember. But do not apply it in case it is nearing the time for the next dose, instead, you can skip the missed dose and then resume your usual dosing schedule. But never “double-up” your dose in order to catch up.

Inform your doctor in case any of these symptoms continue or are becoming worse. Notify your doctor in case you develop a skin rash, or a swelling in the area where the medication was applied.
