Getting rid of Insomnia

Insomnia or lack of sleep affects many people. Getting rid of insomnia is not easy. There are no sure shot cures of insomnia. Many different cures are listed. Some work and some don’t. Some work for some people and not for others.

Rid Of InsomniaOne of the first things you need to do is see a doctor if you think you have insomnia recurring. This article will give you tips on getting rid of insomnia but is not intended as a replacement of medical advice given by a doctor. The methods listed here can be tried almost invariably without any side effects. Choose what you think will work for you or try multiple options over a period of time (not all of them on the same night).

One method reported as effective by many people is having a short hot water bath before you sleep. Hot water baths tend to relax the body and a relaxed body will enable you to get sleep more easily.

Another simple way is to get a massage. Your spouse or friend could give you a massage on the back. Make sure it is done at least 30 minutes after dinner. A soft gentle stroke is what will be most effective. If no support is available you could massage your limbs and even your lower back yourself. Though not as effective in getting rid of insomnia this will nevertheless give you benefits.

A third way to get rid of insomnia is to build a regular amount of exercise in your daily routine. Depending on your current fitness level this could be a 15 – 30 minutes work out or longer. Activities like brisk walking, slow jogging, a bicycle ride or a swim etc are the best. Any weight training you do must ideally be done under guidance of a qualified trainer.
